On January 27, 2004, Finch University of Health Sciences/The Chicago
Medical School announced its intention to change its name to
Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, effective
March 1, 2004.
Under
the leadership of neurologist and world-renowned researcher Dr.
K. Michael Welch, President and CEO of the University, and in concert
with our new strategic plan for the future, the name change is the
key to bringing the University's extraordinary new vision
to life.
Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, located on
Green Bay Road in North Chicago, Illinois, consists of four schools:
The Chicago Medical School
The School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
The College of Health Professions
The Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine
The University's vision is to consistently innovate in the
education of health and biomedical professionals, and in knowledge
creation and scientific discovery, and, together with our partners,
be recognized as an established academic health sciences center
serving a diverse nation with excellence.
